Archdeacon Geevarghese of Christ (died 1585 AD)
Archdeacon Geevarghese Christ was a Biblical expert and a master of Syriac language and literature. Although an able and efficient administrator, he was holy and pious, and appointed Bishop of Palayur, but due to the machinations of the Portugese he could not be ordained. A contemporary of Bishop Abraham of Persia of Ankamali, he is credited with the new construction of Ankamali church.
He is buried in the Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church of the Jacobites in Ankamali..
